About

“Trauma is not what happens to you, it's what happens inside of you” – Gabor Mate

So what is “Trauma Therapy” and how is it different from other therapies?

First and foremost, “trauma therapy” is not one kind of therapy, it is lens from which we can understand our experience from a holistic view of our individual and unique life experiences that includes our biological, environmental, cultural, geological, and generational influences. “Trauma therapy” also includes knowledge of how adverse experiences affect the mind, body, and spirit as well as ways to heal or release “traumas” as opposed to suppressing, ignoring, or “learning to live with” them. Many therapeutic modalities can achieve this goal—finding the right one for you is crucial. For more information on the modalities I use please see “my approach”.

Treatment

I work with trauma and all it's various manifestations...

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • PTSD and Complex Trauma

  • Substance Use/Eating Disorders

  • Chronic Stress and Health Issues

  • Relationship Discord/Infidelity

  • Dissociation/Derealization/Depersonalization

Some of the populations and specific trauma experiences I work with and support:

  • Sexual abuse survivors

  • Narcissistic abuse survivors

  • Religious/Cult abuse

  • Loss of Faith/Spiritual Identity

  • Empaths and Mediums

  • Misophonia

I welcome all races, ethnicities, religous and/or spiritual beliefs. I always work to affirm all sexual and gender identities. As we like to say in IFS:
"All parts are welcome!"

Internal Family Systems

If you've used the phrase "I'm torn, part of me feels one way, another part of me feels a different way" then you've noticed parts.

IFS embraces the idea that we are multiple--and that's a good thing! Click below to learn more...

Brainspotting

Brainspotting is a modality similar to EMDR that uses eye position to process deeper, often unconscious memory and does not require talking about a trauma to get benefits. Click below to learn more

Trauma Reprocessing and Integration Process (TRIP)

TRIP is a relatively new modality that combines the best of attachment theory, parts work, and eye position work. With TRIP we work one eye at a time to connect with various parts and help them connect in a compassionate way. Click below to learn more about this incredibly powerful way of working.

Janina Fisher's "Structural Dissociation"

Janina Fisher is a world renown therapist who has specialized in trauma and dissociative disorders for over three decades. While her methods are considered essential for any therapist working with DID, her concepts are helpful in treating all forms of trauma.

DBT and ACT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy are two different approaches that offer a multitude of coping skills, psychoeducational frameworks, and activities to help you explore personal values and identify concrete actions to help you on your healing journey.
